In a quiet village setting, and situated well away from the road, the cottage is ideally placed for exploring the whole of the Limousin region. Limoges, the region's capital, is just a 45 minute drive away. The cottage is a 5 minute drive from the A20 toll-free motorway, junctions 21 and 22.
The 18C stone cottage is heated by a log-burning stove and also has modern wall-mounted electric radiators. On the ground floor is a through sitting/dining room. There is a double sofa-bed in this room for occasional visitors. There is a small but well fitted and equipped kitchen, which overlooks the garden and patio area. The garden is equipped with barbeque, sunbeds and garden furniture, and beyond the garden is totally open countryside, where you can watch birds of prey at close quarters, or even see deers crossing the fields. On the first floor is one double bedroom with the shower room right next door. There is also an occasional use single fold-up bed if required.
In front of the cottage, which is in a quiet location in a row of four cottages, there is a small courtyard area for residents to park their cars off-road. The cottage is ideal for anyone wishing to stay longer term, for house-hunting or just to get to know the very beautiful Limousin region (which is described as the French Lake District) For holiday lets of 1 week or more, there is plenty to do and see in the region. The cottage is a two minute drive away from Lac Mondon, perfect for fishing, hiking or mountain-biking. We provide two adult mountain bikes for our guests' free use. At Lac Mondon there is a lovely open-air swimming pool. Nearby there are opportunities for fishing,horse-riding, canoeing, and even para-gliding or hot-air ballooning!
